Delicate aromatics of violets, caramel, with hints of licorice and clove. On the palate, the spice and bing cherries are backed by refreshing acidity and medium tannins.

Regular Price: $39/bottle $421.20/case
Wine Club Price: $33.15/bottle $374.40/case

Varietals: 75% Carmenere, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon

Released: May 2017

Originally from France, today this varietal has its largest plantings in Chile. We found ours in the Columbia Valley, which we think suits it wonderfully!

Its inky purple color is rich, along with its berry, pepper and spice cabinet aromatics. The palate showcases the black currant jam, spice, and raspberry. While a slight jalapeno flavor finishes up this wine and leaves you wanting more.

Columbia Valley
2013 Domenica

Regular Price: $39/bottle $421.20/case
Wine Club Price: $33.15/bottle $374.40/case

Bordeaux-style blend with focus on Merlot
80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon
Case Production: 130
Release Date: October 2015

This wine is dedicated to Domenica Paganelli, the grandmother of my wife Donna. Domenica immigrated to the United States from Northern Italy thru Ellis Island in 1915. She settled on the Lower Eastside of Manhattan where she and her husband Francesco made some of the first wines in the New World.

The large amount of Merlot makes this wine soft but very full. This wine shows off black cherry, currant and sage notes, with wonderful texture and deep color. It is full in the mouth with a nice marriage of oak, balanced with tannin and good acidity.

2012 Sogno website

Columbia Valley
2012 Sogno

Regular Price: $38/bottle $410.40/case
Wine Club Price: $32.30/bottle $364.80/case

Varietals: 80% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon
Case Production: 220
Release Date: October 2015

Typically used as a Bordeaux varietal blending grape, Cabernet Franc can be just as expressive as its siblings while standing on its own. Sogno has been a hallmark of DiStefano Winery since 1997, and to this day it remains a “Sweetheart.”

Our first impression of this wine and description was a wine that was very pretty with strong cherry, raspberry qualities. The nose is very floral of the Cabernet Franc varietal with a very nice layering of oak. The wine is not big, bold and gutsy. It is elegant, supple and serious, and hard to put down.

2012 Cabernet Sauvignon

Regular Price: $38/bottle $410.40/case
Wine Club Price: $32.30/bottle $364.80/case

Varietals: 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc
440 cases produced
Release Date: October 2015

This wine has been the “Proud Mary” of DiStefano Winery since 1992. It has always been our goal to produce wines that are true to varietal character and the 2012 Cabernet is no exception.

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon has a very briary almost dusty nose marked with blackberries, black cherries, raspberries, cassis, and anise seed. Ripe berries mingle with tobacco leaf, cedar, chocolate, vanilla, and a touch of violets. Integrated oak and firm, ripe tannins grip the palate and give way to a long chewy finish. The Cabernet Sauvignon is predominately from the Kiona Vineyards on Red Mountain. The vintage was cool and long allowing maximum flavors to develop while keeping sugar levels low.

2011 Sangiovese

Regular Price: $38/bottle $410.40/case
Wine Club Price: $32.30/bottle $364.80/case

Varietals: 100% Carmenere
425 cases produced
Released: September 2013

Please enjoy the inaugural release of DiStefano Winery’s Sangiovese. Because it was a cool vintage (not to the liking of some warm climate varietals) a northern Italian style, cooler climate Sangiovese seemed to make sense. We were right.

This wine exhibits aromatics of black olives, truffles, tar and ripe, black stone fruit that open up to cherries and violets. The spice displays itself on the front of the palate with brine, black cherries and smoked meats lingering on the back.

FAMILY WINES:

DiStefano - front

Wine Club Price: $27.20/bottle $307.20/case

Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Carmenere
Case Production: 600
Release Date: February 2014

Lots of baked berries, raspberry, blackberry, cedar and earth in this one. Dusted with a touch of tobacco and peppercorn, and toasted bread. Delicate oak integrates this blend with great tannin structure, toasty finish with a bit of vanilla and brown sugar. An everyday “Red” for sure.
